This one comes during a lull in the bickering, when everyone’s taken a step back. The Foreman reflects on a troubled relationship with his own father, in counterpoint with Juror Number 8′s own cautious optimism at being a new dad himself. One of the challenges of writing this score was not to make every song just another rant: in this case, a casual, false bravado is employed by the guys to mask disappointent, bitterness, and even (you guessed it) anger. REJECTED!
